Surprise 60th Birthday Party!

Gosh I can't believe it has been a week since I have posted on my blog. It has been busier then usual and sometimes 4 kids just gets a little overwhelming. Especially when the following happens all at the same time: Brock- arguing with me about his homework (what is suppose to be completed and returned to school and what isn't) Mikele- having an emotional break down for I don't even remember what. Kassie- throwing toys all over the family room because she is mad that I can't get he a cup a milk because I am feeding Allie who just had a diaper malfunction and peed all over me. As I am getting up to go change Allie she spits up all over my shirt. So now Kassie is sitting on the stair in time out. Allie is laying naked (except for a clean diaper) on the floor screaming and I am getting in the shower again because I am cover in urine and spit up. Enough complaining back to the purpose of this post.

This year Jason's Mom celebrated her 60th birthday. All of Jason's siblings planned a surprise party for her at Bree's house (Jason's sister), Jon and Daryn, our family and Bree's family gathered at Bree's house and anxiously awaited the arrival of the birthday girl.

The kids could not wait for Grammy to arrive!

Our gracious host and hostess.

She is finally here!

We had to open presents right away because if we didn't Kassie was going to self com-bust!

The beautiful table.

The great thing about kids is you always have help blowing out your candles!

We enjoyed dinner, cake and ice cream (provided by Bree and James), chatting with Heather and family and Caitlin and family via webcam and a few games. It was a quick trip but well worth surprising and celebrating Grammy's birthday!

Happy 10th Anniversary

Today Jason and I are celebrating our 10th Anniversary. We joke that we are shocked that we still like each other so much. But to be honest I love Jason more today then the day I married him.

Happy Anniversary Jason!

Basketball Season Begins

This year Brock is playing basketball on the Junior Mustang League. Brock had his first game on Saturday.  He did really well considering he had never played on a team before. The first quarter he watched more then played but he did get his hands on the ball and made 2 great passes and even dribbled a little. His team lost  the game (they got slaughtered 34-2) but he had a great time! They do have practices once a week and I think once he learns more about how to play on a team level he will do really well.

Here are some pictures from the game:

Allie really enjoyed the game!

Kassie is 3!!

I can hardly believe that my little girl is 3! Well actually she thinks she is 5. Kassie has had her birthday planned for months. We made a purple castle cake together while Brock and Mikele were at school and Allie took a nap. It was a interesting experience. Everything needed more sprinkles.

I had scouts after school so the girls went to our friends, Kim and Grant's house. They had a surprise party for her with balloons, candles and presents. Thanks Kim and Grant!! You are the best!!! Kassie actually freaked out about blowing out the candle because she had a purple castle cake at home and everyone wasn't there yet.

We traditionally let the birthday boy or girl pick what is for dinner. Kassie picks the same thing every year, boxed macaroni and cheese. I went all out and bought the Kraft kind instead of Western Family the generic.

Then we finally opened presents. Kassie was pretty cute about it. Cloths no longer held her attention. These items were quickly opened and tossed aside. Toys did much better. Then we watched her new Tinkerbell movie.

After the movie we had a fashion show. The cloths made a comeback and she tried them all on for us. She is very modest and had to hide down the hall to try her cloths on so no one would see her.

Finally we had cake and ice cream. When we mentioned lighting the candle and singing to her Kassie got really upset and didn't want us to light the candle because it would burn her purple castle cake! I wasn't even sure she was going to let us cut her cake. She was very nervous the whole time we sang and was relieved to blow out the candle and have her cake safely flame free.

Today we went to her well child check up. She is 38 3/4 inches tall which puts her in the 96th percentile for height and 31 pounds, 75th percentile for weight.
