I can hardly believe that my little girl is 3! Well actually she thinks she is 5. Kassie has had her birthday planned for months. We made a purple castle cake together while Brock and Mikele were at school and Allie took a nap. It was a interesting experience. Everything needed more sprinkles.
I had scouts after school so the girls went to our friends, Kim and Grant's house. They had a surprise party for her with balloons, candles and presents. Thanks Kim and Grant!! You are the best!!! Kassie actually freaked out about blowing out the candle because she had a purple castle cake at home and everyone wasn't there yet.
We traditionally let the birthday boy or girl pick what is for dinner. Kassie picks the same thing every year, boxed macaroni and cheese. I went all out and bought the Kraft kind instead of Western Family the generic.
Then we finally opened presents. Kassie was pretty cute about it. Cloths no longer held her attention. These items were quickly opened and tossed aside. Toys did much better. Then we watched her new Tinkerbell movie.
After the movie we had a fashion show. The cloths made a comeback and she tried them all on for us. She is very modest and had to hide down the hall to try her cloths on so no one would see her.
Finally we had cake and ice cream. When we mentioned lighting the candle and singing to her Kassie got really upset and didn't want us to light the candle because it would burn her purple castle cake! I wasn't even sure she was going to let us cut her cake. She was very nervous the whole time we sang and was relieved to blow out the candle and have her cake safely flame free.
Today we went to her well child check up. She is 38 3/4 inches tall which puts her in the 96th percentile for height and 31 pounds, 75th percentile for weight.
