Grammy's Visit

Jason's Mom, aka Grammy, came for the weekend to check out the new house. We had a great time playing Hill-Billie golf, going to soccer games, enjoying the sunshine and relaxing on the back patio. I took these photos of the kids with Grammy on Sunday afternoon and I had to post them because they are soooo cute!!

Soccer Season

It is soccer season again! This year Brock and Mikele are both playing. We were hoping that all their games would be at the Blackhawk soccer fields but no such luck. All of Brock's games are at the Blackhawk soccer fields and all of Mikele's are on the other side of town at Lundstrum park (about 2o minutes from our house). Brock has really done well this year. In the past he has been very timid and this year it is another story. He is crazy! I actually really enjoy watching him play now.

Mikele on the other hand is much more timid and rarely gets involved.

I believe this next shot was during a kickoff. It is her first year playing so I am sure once she gets more accustom to the game she will be more involved. She is having a good time and does like to go and be a part of the team.

Kassie really enjoys the playground at Lundstrum park. Usually Jason and I switch off playing with her at the park while the other one is watching Mikele's game.

This was the first Saturday of games. We were excited that the weather was actually nice. Most of the other games have been rainy or snowing or just cold. The kids play 2 games a week and usually have one practice. I was playing soccer last summer and fall and watching the kids play has really made me miss it. 10 more weeks and then a few weeks of recovery and I can be out playing again!

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was GORGEOUS!!! We walked to church and attended our new ward for the first time. It was rather exciting, a lady had a seizure and so we sat listening to prelude music while the paramedics took her out. The rest of the services were uneventful but good. Then when we got home we had a little photo shoot in our back yard. The girls, of course, got new Easter dresses and I made matching hair bows. Jason offered to buy Brock a new dress but Brock passed.

So you will want to click on the picture of Brock or the group picture and check out the big hole in Brock's smile. He recently lost one of his front teeth.

Bunny Day!

Happy Bunny Day!! We decorated eggs Friday night with AnnMarie and Calvin. Well actually Calvin played games on his iphone and Jason installed the new dishwasher while AnnMarie and I helped the kids decorate eggs. Then the Easter Bunny hid them that night and the kids found them Saturday morning. The kids left a note for the Easter Bunny. They wanted to know if he was a boy or a girl (boy by the way.)

Brock had the prettiest eggs. They were very bright colors with little Easter sentiments on them.

Kassie's eggs had as much personality as her expression on her face. She colored her eggs once and then decided to color them a few more times. They were all different shades of brown by the time she finished.

Mikele's eggs were the most elaborate. She drew swirly lines all over her's with a crayon.

The kids got up around 9:45 and came into our room to find their baskets waiting. Brock got a basketball in his basket. Mikele had a Disney DVD bingo game and Kassie had a Tinkerbell Doll in her basket.

*You will want to pay close attention to Kassie's expression in the picture below. It would be worth clicking on it and enlarging it

The Easter bunny was nice enough to leave us a list of where all the eggs were hidden. Unfortunately we couldn't find one of the real eggs and Jason swore he checked everywhere on the list. Luckily after probably a half hour of searching I went back and checked in the upstairs bathroom and found the missing egg.

After the hunt the kids played with their gifts. We had a nice relaxing day. Well Jason installed light fixtures and track lighting while the kids played and I cleaned the couches and the bathrooms.

Pictures of our New House

I love our new house more and more each day! Here is a little tour of our new abode. This first picture is obviously the front of the house.

Entry way: the front door is on the right, the garage door is straight ahead on the side of the closet and the back patio doors are on the left (this is as if you were standing where I am standing taking the picture)

This is the upstairs living room. You can see Kassie sitting in the chair of the dining area.

This is the Piano room. How snobby ;) ! I am planning on putting bookshelves on the back wall behind the chair Mikele is sitting in.

This is the Kitchen. Just past the stove is the door way to the "Command Center" and the front living room. Just past that doorway and around the corner is the laundry room. It is behind the kitchen.

Dinning area off the kitchen.

Command Center: This is a picture taken from down the hall by the Master bedroom and Kassie's room. There is a built-in cabinet that I keep my purse, mail ect. on. It is that junk spot that every house seems to have.

Master bedroom and bath.

The shower and toilet are off the walk-in closet.

Kassie and the Baby's room.

Mikele's room

Downstairs bathroom. You have got to love the orange vanity. Ironically my frog soap dish and accessories match perfectly!

Brock's room. His bedspread actually matches the walls perfectly.

Downstairs family room. It is a gas fireplace that we want to replace the insert with something a little more current.

This would be a room that will soon have a new couch and Jason's tv.

Backyard: This is from the deck. Our property ends at the wood fence behind the white vinyl fence.

This is taken from the vinyl fence. There is a shed to my left that is not in the picture.

This is the back yard behind the back yard. The lot is .4 acres.

Well I hope you enjoyed our home tour. (Rooms not pictured: Jason's office and Nicole's scrapbook room. These rooms are not unpacked yet. Also not pictured: storage room, cold storage, the numerous linen closets that are mainly empty because I have nothing to put in them and the kids play room under the stairs.)

Moving Day!

It is Moving Day! We rented a HUGE uhaul and we also borrowed my Dad's trailer and began loading all of our stuff that we have acquired over the last 10 years.

The uhaul was really for entertainment purposes!

This is a picture taken at Lowes. We have made countless trips since moving in. I think we are on a first name basis with many of the associates there.

Before we moved in we washed all the walls and ceilings and had the carpets cleaned. Thank you Mom, Calvin & AnnMarie for coming and helping!!! We would not have been able to clean the whole house in one night without you!!!

After getting everything unloaded we began the hooking things up. My Dad changed out all the locks for us. This project required Jason buying a dremel tool. They guys had fun trying out the new toy.

My Dad lost his battle with this drawer. He was fixing a drawer slide.

Jason's project was to hook up the dryer. He almost looks like he is in pain but he won the battle and I have working appliances.

Kassie handled the unpacking rather well. It didn't slow her playing down at all.

She took a break from playing and helped Papa install new locks.
