Brock Earned His Bear

Two weeks ago, while I was sick with Strep, Brock earned and received his Bear at pack meeting.  I was very proud of how hard he has worked and what an outstanding young man he is.  The scouting program is kind of funny and do weird cheers for the scouts when they earn an award. Brock drew the "silent cheer" which means everyone cheers without making a sound.  For all the cub scouts to be silent is an accomplishment in and of itself.
After the awards the scouts and their families decorated hard boiled eggs with crayons, stickers and pipe cleaners.  They had a contest for the best decorated egg.  Kassie put pipe cleaner crown on her egg and Mikele's egg wore bunny ears.  Brock's egg had a pipe cleaner stand.  The kids all had a great time and I enjoyed the hour in bed sleeping.

Bunny Day

We had a fun Easter weekend. We celebrate bunny day on Saturday (baskets, egg hunt, commercial part) and then focus on the true purpose of Easter on Sunday.  This also works out great because we are able to enjoy the Easter egg hunt without rushing off to church.  So that said we decorated eggs on Friday night.

Hard at work!

Allie was so cute with her eggs. She kept pulling the egg out to check it and watched intently as it soaked in the dye.

Kassie is always good for a funny facial expresion! I don't know what color she was expecting but it came out yellow.

Who needs friends when you have a sister to lean on?

For the more patient type who are willing to hold an egg half way into the dye in one color then the other half in a second color you can get a cool egg like Brock's.

Our brightly colored eggs. Great job kids!

The kids were up before 7:00 am! I think it was earlier then Christmas morning. They quickly found their baskets filled with a small toy and chocolate bunny and were ready to hunt for their eggs.

 yo-yo for Kassie

 jump rope for Mikele

big sparkly bouncy ball for Allie

and a cap gun for Brock. Jason said every boy needs a cap gun.

Really, I don't think there are any eggs in the freezer! That tricky bunny hid the hard boiled eggs in the garage.

Do you see the egg?

Now that all 60 eggs have been found it is time to enjoy the "sweets" of our labors! After a fried egg breakfast we went to the Millville City egg hunt. There were hundreds of eggs and within a matter of minutes they had all been collected. As part of the kid's baskets we gave them gift certificates to go miniature golfing. It was a perfect day to enjoy 18 holes on the lush greens at The Willows. After the golf game we went home, loaded the car and headed to Blackfoot. I already posted about that part of our trip here.  Ironically I didn't get a single group shot of the kids in their new Easter dresses and tie. The closest I came is of the one the kids horsing around with Papa. I will have to take a pictures next Sunday.

All In The Family

We made a quick trip to Blackfoot Saturday night and Sunday.  My Dad was being ordained to the office of High Priest and it happened to be my Mom's birthday on Easter Sunday. On Sunday after church I was able to snap a few photos.  These pictures hide nothing. This is my family in all its glory.

 Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Jenson Family Photoshoot

This weekend I had the opportunity to take pictures of the Jenson's and their 9 great grandchildren. I was hoping for some drier weather so we could have taken the pictures outside but no luck. Snow, Snow and MORE Snow all day long.  Oh well, we worked with what was available and took the pictures inside the foyer of the church.  I appreciated the opportunity and experience and hope they love their photos.  Oh ya, they wanted pictures of their kids too but only if the shots also included their grand-kids.
