It was the 10th Anniversary of our conference weekend tradition. We all arrived early on Friday and with in no time the guys and kids were downstairs in the basement of Mat and Jenny's house gaming away. The guys were a little crazy and gamed every night until the early hours of the morning. Mat has decided that if this is what a hangover feels like then people are CRAZY to drink. Speaking of Mat, a few years ago he played an instrumental role in setting up a charter school with their computers, security system and phones. Pretty much all the techy stuff. It was ALL volunteer hours!!! In appreciation for his contribution to the school they school board named one the the computer labs after Mat. I had never been to the school and wanted to see it so before heading home we ran over and checked it out. Yes even if it has been a few years I am still so dang proud of my big brother. He is pretty AMAZING!!! FYI this whole picture and post thing is totally embarrassing to him but what are little sisters for?
The little kids and Mom's enjoyed watching conference and playing with cousins. Little Will was a big hit with all the girl cousins!! Kassie was excited to get some baby holding time in. Will is changing so fast. I can't believe how different he looks now after only a few short weeks.
Monday the kids had a short day of school because of parent teacher conferences this week. Tuesday they had the day completely off. Thank goodness. My kids were all TIRED! Brock's teacher was concerned about Brock when he got to school because he looked and acted like a zombie. Brock told her that he was just REALLY tired because he had played to hard with his cousins. Brock had to fill out an evaluation on himself about how school is going and what he does well and what he needs to work on. Here is an exert from his paper:
Q- list the things you really need to work on
A- sleep because it takes me so long just to fall asleep
Q- why do you need to spend extra effort to achieve this skill?
A- because I really need to fall asleep to be awake at school and everything. Did I also mention that it took him almost an hour and a half to write this.
