My baby is 3. I have to say I am not sad. I am excited. I am enjoying my kids getting older. We can enjoy different activities that just are easier and more enjoyable with older kids. Allie has been making me laugh all week. I have had her presents sitting on the buffet since Monday afternoon. At least once a day Allie tells me. "Mom, I think I am 3 now so I can open my presents."
We had a fabulous birthday party for Allie.
We enjoyed fabulous food! Allie wanted hot dogs and watermelon. We also had some great salads and hamburgers for those of us who don't truly appreciate a hot dog like Allie does.
We had some fabulous beverage options. Allie LOVES her chocolate milk. Honestly any milk will do. She also really wanted lemonade so we picked up Strawberry Lemonade as well.
Ice Cream cones with Blue ice cream. Yes that is what she wanted. There was no cake to be had. She didn't even want cup cakes. Just ice cream cones with blue ice cream. Now if you lived anywhere outside of Cache Valley blue ice cream might be hard to find but here where the Aggies live and our blood runs blue you can find blue Aggie ice cream. It is mint with white chocolate chips and cookies and is YUMMY! It is also expensive running almost $6 for a half gallon.
You can't have a birthday party without presents! Allie has been asking for a purple ipad for the last 6 weeks. Finally about a week ago I sat down with her and said she needed to come up with another idea because she wasn't getting an ipad. She decided she wanted a baby doll with cloths and a new shovel for the sand box. I kept teasing her that I had bought her things like socks and underwear or a banana or a monkey. She just kept telling me that wasn't what she asked for and was very confident that I had bought the right thing and yes I did.
What takes a birthday party from average to memorable? Unexpected guests. Our friends brought over three goats that were only a week old. They even came with ribbons and bows. The kids LOVED them. Allie picked the blue one and Kassie named the red one. They thought they were so fun and cute. Thankfully they went home and that isn't at our house.
All this fun and even the adorable baby goats are tired.
Allie had her well child check up and is:
weighs 33 pounds (80th percentile)
37 3/4" tall (60th percentile)
her head measurement is 18 3/4" (20th percentile)
So she is a healthy average height child with a little head.
