Only Yesterday!

Only Yesterday we were enjoying a beautiful warm fall! The kids were happily playing in the sandbox still wearing shorts and flip flops.

Today it is snowing! I had to turn the furnace on and pull out the sweaters and long sleeve shirts. I have to admit that I am not ready for summer to be over. Oh well, ready or not here it comes!

Hayli, Our new Cousin

On September 2nd Hayli was born (daughter of Caitlin & Jared, Jason's sister and brother-in-law) We stopped by to meet Hayli on our way home from West Valley. Everyone got a turn holding Hayli. Some more time then others. Mikele was a little bit of a baby hog and Kassie had to settle for a doll which made me a little less nervous. Congrats to the new parents!!

Mikele & Preschool

Mikele started preschool on Tuesday, September 2nd. She was very very excited!!!! The first day she did great. I dropped her off and she went right into the classroom and started playing.

One of the great things about her preschool is that they have a really good reading program that the kids work through at their own pace. Mikele has been very excited about this because she really wants to learn to read. When I picked Mikele up, one of the teachers said that Mikele had asked her, "when are we going to learn to read?"

Kassie did not do so well. She cried!

So now that we are about to finish the second week of school, you would think the novelty would wear off just a little. Oh no! Mikele was ready with her back pack on by 9:30 this morning! (Preschool doesn't start until 12:00)

My friend had this on her blog so I thought I would try it out. It was kind of fun!

You Belong in 1986

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

Beautiful Hair!

So we were trying to get ready to leave for Mikele's Preschool Back to School Night and Brock and Mikele were doing Kassie's hair. It was a butterfly extravaganza! They used every butterfly clip we had (there were quite a few) on her hair. Don't worry we told everyone who noticed her hair that I was experimenting with a new look on Kassie.

Brock is Published!

I could not be a prouder parent. Last May a friend of ours that does illustrations for the "Friend," the LDS magazine for children, asked if Brock would like to pose for an illustration that he was doing. Of course I agreed and the illustration has been published in the September 2008 Friend on page 7. You will be able to view the "Friend" by clicking here. The illustration goes along with a poem called "My Special Time." So tell me what you think. Does it look like him?

p.s. I am sure Brock will autograph your copy.

Brock's First Day of School

So after reading all of my friend's blogs about their kid's first day of school I thought, I forgot to post about Brock's first day of school. Yes, Brock did start 2nd grade this year. At back to school night we met his teacher, Miss Bunderson. She is really nice. This is her first year teaching but I am sure she will do great. Brock was sad about starting school. If you remember back in May when school got out he was sad then too. I think he just doesn't like change and once he gets use to a new schedule he wants it to stay that way. Don't worry, after the first day of school he LOVED IT!! He even said he wanted to live at the school. All of his friends are in his class this year including Ben and Collin his two best friends. Mikele, Kassie and I have a new motto: "The Boys are gone PARTY ON!!!"

Grammy's House

Brock and Mikele spent the week before school started at Grammy's house (Jason's Mom). Here are some pictures of what they did.
Lunch with Bree and Avri at the park.

The following pictures are from the new water park in Rexburg. It looks like a lot of fun. I think Logan needs a water park.

This is the carousel at Porter park in Rexburg.

The kid and Grammy went to Tauphaus Park zoo in Idaho Falls with Bree and Avri.

They also visited the airport museum. I didn't even know that Rexburg had an airport museum.

After the museum they went to the river walk and fed the ducks.

The kids had such a great time! Next time they want to stay for 2 whole weeks!

Kassie loves to Jump

Nicole was working downstairs when she started hearing all this racket coming from the girl's room. Kassie was taking a nap but had obviously woke up. This is what she found her doing when she came into her room.

Kassie gives a shout out to her jumping partner Avri.
