Mikele's Birthday Part 1

Mikele's birthday was a major event among a list of other events taking place last weekend. On Friday her actual birthday the kids had a primary activity at the church.

They made candy trains.After the primary activity we came home and had our family birthday party.  Mikele opened presents and we had icecream cake.

After icecream cake we headed back up to the church for the ward Christmas party.  We had a nice dinner, visited with friends and the primary put on a small program.

The Introduction of Food

"We" introduced rice cereal to Allie on the 8th of December. I say "we" because I had so much help from Kassie and Mikele.  Allie did pretty good with the cereal but I think she was more fascinated with all the attention and pictures that were being taken.

Tree Decorating

I mentioned on Sunday that we got our tree decorated.  It is always fun to decorate with kids.  The tree is only decorated from as high as they can reach and down.  All of the ornaments Kassie put on the tree are placed on two branches and the kids do not understand "spread the colored balls out so they aren't by each other". You should all be impressed by my self control.  I haven't  moved a single ornament.

Allie's job was to watch.  She is enjoying all of the lights and decorations.

The Mysetery of Allie's Allergies

Over the last couple of months Allie has been dealing with skin issues that were thought to be caused by food allergies.  As a result I went on a diet that basically eliminated anything that tasted good. We didn't see much changes at least not any consistent changes so my pediatrician recommended we take Allie to an allergentist.  Of course the closest allergentist was in Ogden and the first available apointment was Wednesday, November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving. 

I begged Jason to go with me to help with crowd control and with Allie.  I was really worried that Allie would get really upset with the  poking but she did really good. She didn't even cry.  The kids were also great and the nurse commented how impressed she was that the kids hadn't tore the room apart.  All I have to say is thank goodness for technology.  Of course I took a few pictures as any good scrapbooking Mom would.

Ok so what were the results? Well the nurse told us that a white hive would appear if she was allergic to something.  So we anxiously watched her back waiting for a hive to appear.  Well almost right away there was a hive.  We waited to find out what it was.  When the nurse came back in we told her we had a winner.  She took a look and laughed. The hive was on the control spot.  Allie was suppose to get a hive there to confirm the test worked.  So the results are that Allie is not allergic to anything and she just has bad eczema.  So we have made an appointment with a dermatologist and will see what he says.  I was relieved to be off my very limited diet and enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinner!

Coyote Farm

This is a little catch up post. Back in November I took the scouts to the local Coyote Farm that is located in the east fields of Millville.  It was actually a lot of fun and very informative.  I hope the boys had just as much fun as I did.

Trying To Take A Picture!

Last Monday we finally decorated our Christmas Tree.  Afterwords I tried to take some pictures of my kids.  Well instead of trying to explain I will just show you the pictures.

 

Well I will admit I have adorable children. A little goofy but adorable none the less.

For Sale!

When I graduated from College Jason bought me a Jeep Liberty.  I have loved this vehicle!  It is FUN to drive, has a great turning radius so I can get into any parking spot, it has plenty of spunk or get up and go.  It also has 4 wheel drive so I felt safe driving in about any road conditions and a few years ago Jason installed an auto start so I could start it from my window and it would be all warm, toasty and the windows defrosted by the time I had to go anywhere. (we didn't have a garage)  I have LOVED this vehicle.

The sad day has come that it is time to sale it.  Our family no longer fits in this sporty fun jeep made for 5 not 6.  Jason was driving it to work but has bought a truck instead (it seats 6).  With only 2 drivers there is no reason to keep it licenses and insured so sadly it is FOR SALE!  I hope we can find a good home for it.  If you are interested let me know and I can give you more details.

Thanksgiving

I know it was over a week ago but I am finally posting pictures from our Thankgiving weekend. We were at Jason's Mom's house this year and had a great time with Grammy and Bree and Jame's family. Mikele is loving her little cousins and Kassie and Avri (who are about 4 months apart) are starting to become good friends. Here are a few snapshots:

We went to the Rexburg Christmas celebration across the street. They had a chili dinner, fireworks, Santa and horse drawn sleigh rides.

After dinner at the park we went over to Bree and James's club house to watch "Horton Hears a Who"

Thanksgiving Wreath

I love bargains and I especially love bargains at one of my new favorite stores in Logan, Rod and Vinyl! They had all of their autumn decor 50% off and I picked up this cute wreath for my mirror. To bad I only had it up for about 2 weeks before I switched it out for my Christmas decor.
