The Swing Set!

We have been planning on getting a new swing set all spring but have been waiting for the snow to melt.  We finally went down to Ogden and picked it up a few weeks ago (Saturday, April 10th).  It is a galvanized steel swing set with a 10 foot wavy slide, a fire pole, monkey bars, a covered platform, gymnastic rings, a trapeze bar and 4 swings. We got it home and started assembling and digging post holes.  Then on Monday Jason picked up the cement and we started cementing in the poles.  It took a couple of nights due to the weather, soccer games and only being able to work on it after work but Jason finally got it done.  Then on Saturday, April 17th we finished by putting on the slide and swings and tightening everything up.  It was worth the wait and the kids are LOVING it!!!

All loaded up.

I think they are excited. Little do they know they won't be able to actually play on it for a week.
Assembleing. Much easier and faster then the wood set we had at our old house.

We recruited the neighbor to help us dig the post holes.

Yes that is a handful of worms! Yuck!!!

Kassie made pine needle soup while she waited for us to get her swing set done. By the way she doesn't like swing sets without swings.

On Saturday the cement was dry and it was time to add the finishing touches.  Between soccer games I tightened everything up and attached the swings while Jason put on the slide and canopy. Mikele is cleaning off the ladder steps so we could put on these slip prevention strips.
Brock filled back in the post holes.
We are almost done. To bad we have to leave for Brock's soccer game.
YEAH IT IS DONE!!!
So I think they are enjoying their new swing set.  I also can hook Allie's baby swing on I just don't have any pictures because she was taking a nap when I took these.

Easter Sugar Cookies

Kassie wanted to make sugar cookies before Easter but was really disappointed that I didn't have any Easter cookie cutters.  I only had heart shapes, Halloween and Christmas.  Shortly after Easter I found and picked up a set of cookie cutters on clearance.  Then on Sunday (April 11th) we made sugar cookies.

Kassie obviously takes this very serious!

Apparently Kassie's older sister does not take decorating cookies near a serious!
Brock just tries to maximize the amount of frosting and sprinkles he can put on one cookie.
Allie just likes to look cute and eat the cookies!

Hats!

While the guys are saving the world or killing each other on the computers the girls usually watch conference and work on a project.  This time we crocheted hats and headbands.  Here are some pictures of the hats that I made for my girls.

My Mom made Allie's hat. I added a flower like Mikele and Kassie's to it.

Kassie is working her hat! She loves posing for the camera.

Mikele wore her hat almost everyday of spring break. She looks so cute in it!
(As a funny side note check out the face Brock is making in this photo. What a nut!)

Easter/Conference Weekend

This year the semi annual Gaming weekend was at our house.  It also happened to be Easter weekend so we had an "eggtra" good time!  On Saturday morning the Easter bunny hid the kids' baskets and left them clues to find them.  Then the kids each found 10 candy filled eggs hidden throughout the house.

Mikele is reading one of the clues.

The KKK (Kassie, Katelynn and Kambrea) are now 3!

Allie and Jordynn chatting.

Down the stairs. . .

. . . back up the stairs. Watch out Grandma!

We finally found the baskets! Brock and Mikele each got a new watch that actually keeps time! I don't think the Easter Bunny got these from the dollar store and it made all the difference.

Kassie got a pooping cow! She couldn't wait to show her buddy Grant who has a pooping moose.

Allie didn't get any treats but she did get a puppet frog that sings to her and a toy!

"This is what I really want. CHOCOLATE!!!"

Now that we have our baskets we can find the eggs!

These eggs are everywhere!

"Look Brock! Another Egg!"

Easter Egg Rice Crispy Treats!
(my Mom made these)

Jelly Bean nests
(also made by my Mom)

We ate all our meals out in the garage. It worked pretty good.
There was plenty of room and easy to clean up.
Kambrea's birthday was on Monday so we sang to her Sunday while everyone was together.
I hope you have a GREAT Birthday!!!

We had a great weekend! The guys set up all 8 computers in my scrapbook room.  I told them that they better make sure my very girly room does not have a stinky man smell when they left.  Jason was sure to leave the window open and let it air out when they were done.  I think everyone had a great time. The only thing that could have been better was the weather.  It was pretty chilly so we didn't spend much time outside.

Grammy Package

Grammy sent her traditional Easter package.  The kids get so excited about getting mail and with yummy treats and toys in the package it is no wonder.

We are ready to rip this box open!

Kassie gets so excited about her cards.  It is kind of funny actually.

Brock found his toy.

Yummy treats!

Allie got a little rubber duck. She loves to play with it during her bath!

Allie's 9 Month Stats

Allie had her 9 month check up on Monday. She is 18 pounds 14.5 oz which puts her into the 55%. Allie is 26 3/4 inches tall which puts her into the 25%. That is a total change for me to actually have a child who falls so low on the height scale. Well I guess we know which gene pool she got her height from. ;) LOL!!!

Allie is a sweet heart. She is very animated and full of life. Allie can be very loud. She has no problem making her presence known. Allie is eating solids but would have nothing to do with baby food so we just feed her from our plates. Her favorite food is ice cream. She also likes graham crackers, funeral potatoes and rice. Allie has also tried carrots, peas, waffles and even a little ham.

Allie is not crawling yet. She does get up on her hand and knees and rocks back and forth. She is pretty fast at moving backwards into everything. She can move from a crawling position to a sitting position. I am sure it is just a matter of time before it clicks and she is cruising around.

I started writing this post on Wednesday the 31st of March. On Sunday, April 4th Allie started to crawl. We captured this video to share. It is all about incentive!

Oh So Sad

My sister came down for a visit a few weeks ago.  While she was here we tried to take some pictures of Allie and her baby, Kai who is about 3 months younger then Allie.  As you can see it didn't go so well.

How cute in their matching outfits and big alligator tears!

Friday Night- Movie Night

Over the summer we started having a Friday night - Movie night with the kids. It has become a tradition and frankly with as crazy busy as our last couple of weeks have been Jason and I have started really looking forward to Friday nights at home.  Sometimes we rent  a movie from Redbox or we watch a move we already have, other times we play a game or play the Wii but the purpose is to just relax at home and enjoy being together as a family.

Look we adopted another boy!

"Mom, where did you go?"

We love having our own theater room right downstairs. It is cheaper then the theater, more comfortable then the theater and we can pause for potty breaks.  You can't loose!

Our First Pine Wood Derby!

We survived and the car made it to the end of the track! What more can you ask for? Brock had a great time painting his car and even more fun racing it.  We kind of took the easy road by picking up a kit that all we had to do was assemble, paint and add some decals.  His car wasn't the fastest but Brock and all of the scouts had a great time and in the end that is what matters most!

This is serious intense stuff!
Brock's car's average time was about 3.5 seconds
This is Brock and his best friend Sean

Brock got the award for the "Coolest Car"
