Kassie's 18 month stats

Kassie had her 18 month well child visit last week. I was a little nervous about what Dr. McKenna would say because the day before Kassie pulled my hair straightener on to her face (of course it was hot) and had a burn mark on her check and on the side of her nose. At Kassie's 12 month check up Dr. McKenna had warned me that the 3 most common reasons kids her age get hurt are swallowing pennies, drowning in the toilet and burns from curling/flat irons. Well he didn't give me to much grief about it. He said I was lucky that it just missed her eye and eye lid or it could have caused more serious long term damage. Kassie had also fell and bit her lip pretty bad so she looked like a mess with the burns and fat lip. Dr. McKenna told Kassie that she was acting more like a little boy then a girl.

As far as her checkup she weighs 25 pounds (60th percentile) and she is 32 3/4 inches tall (80th percentile). She only had to get 1 shot and she was really brave and didn't cry at all. She fussed more about having to lay down on the table to be measured and to be prepped for the shot.

As far as personality I told Dr. McKenna that she has serious attitude and is very stubborn! He said that "Attitude determines altitude" so she will go far in life.

Kissing Cousins

Kassie and Makenna got a little friendly at Brock's birthday party. Well I will just show you the pictures:

This was one of the boxes from Brock's birthday gifts. I was surprised that the girls liked having the boxes over their heads.

Brock's Birthday

Boy do I have some serious catching up to do. I can no longer give anyone grief about not updating their blogs.

Brock's birthday - What a busy and fun day this was. We had a soccer game in the morning that started 35 minutes late so we got home 15 minutes before Brock's friends arrived for the friend birthday party. The party was so much fun but as most parties go it is 90 minutes of craziness! Then we relaxed for a few hours before we had the family party that consisted of 15 people crammed into my little house. Brock had a great day and it made it all worth it. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the party. It means a lot to Brock and Jason & I. Here are the pictures.
Here are some pictures from the Friends Party:

In this game the kids tried to drop the lego pieces into the milk jug.

I was so proud of Brock. He invited Mikele to his party. Those two are such good friends and play so well together. Mikele hates to be left out so it really ment a lot to her to be included.

For this game the kids had to carry lego pieces on a spoon from one cup to the other cup. It was rather humors. One of the boys decided that it made a lot more sense to just pick up his cup and carry it to the other cup and dump it in.

This was the highlight of the party. Everyone received a lego set that made a race car. The kids put their cars together and then they raced them down a cardboard track that Jason built. It was a huge hit with the kids!!!

Finally we opened presents and had lego cakes and ice cream. Oh did I mention that the theme was a Lego Party? I hope it is obvious by now. Just a little funny story. When I made the invitations I wrote on the cards that this was Brock's 6th birthday. Lucky for me the first Mom I gave the invitation to caught my mistake so I could correct them before I handed the rest out.

Family Party

We were so excited that so many family members could come to Brock's Birthday dinner. My parent gave Brock sand for a sand box. It is a huge hit. Brock & Mikele play in it every single day! Here are some pictures of the party:

One of Brock's friends gave him sand toys. Brock didn't know he was getting a sand box so he tried out his new toys in the garden.

Brock helped prep the area under the swing set for the sand box.

The kids were a little anxious to play in the sand so they tried it out in the back of the truck first.

The sandbox is a huge hit!! Thank you Papa & Grandma Murdock!!!!

The Loot! Brock scored pretty good for his birthday. It was fun watching him open his presents. When he opened the star wars shirt from Grammy he exclaimed, "this is the one I wanted!!" Good job Grammy! Uncle Jon was a big hit with me. I don't know who is enjoying Mario Kart for the Wii more, Brock or Jason and I.

Well in the tradition of cakes I did make Brock a big lego block cake. With 7 candles. I am so great full for my little man. He is such an amazing big brother and a joy to have in our family! Happy Birthday BROCK!!!

Spring Break

Last week was Spring Break. I am not sure if Brock or I looked forward to it more. I was ready for a break. His Spring Break was 10 wonderful days long!!!! So here is a recap.

We started by setting some rules:
Rule 1: Sleep in as long as possible
Rule 2: Stay in your pajamas for as long as possible
Rule 3: Play Play Play
Rule 4: Play some more!!

The Nintendo was a big part of Spring Break it was the gaming system of choice.

Oh we did get dressed and then back to the Nintendo!

Brock and Mikele adopted a new pet fly. (it died later that day)

Oh it snowed during our spring break (not impressed)

More Nintendo

Of course we made some scrapbooking time. My mom. Shelly (a friend of mine) and I worked on our Disney trips. We made great progress.

Kassie adopted a new pet horse. It was so funny. They played like this for at least 30 minutes.

To encourage better weather we went shopping for spring cloths. Isn't she styl'n!

Finally, SUNNY WEATHER!! I don't know why they are sitting in the shade. I was facing the sun and soaking it up.

Conference Weekend/Gaming Weekend

This weekend we were at my parents house. There was plenty of gaming going on a little crafting and a lot of playing among the cousins. Kassie and Kambrea were bonding. We celebrated Kambrea's 1st birthday on Saturday. Yes these two are 5 months apart but you wouldn't know it by looking at them.

A tradition at my parents house is getting your head stuck between the spindles. Kassie took her turn this weekend.

Do they have a vaccine for tags? j/k

Ok Jenny I guess it is only fair since I tagged you. I have to admit that this one is a lot easier.

This is what you do

1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog.
5. Tag 5 people.

Ok so the nearest book to me is "Imagine" by Jeanette R. Lynton it is a scrapbook layout book that I absolutely love. I know you are all shocked that it was the book that was closest to me.

The 5th line reads, "Take any photo clip or metal accent and make it coordinate with the layout by painting with an acrylic paint or spray paint."

I will tag Stephanie, Misty, Heather, Caitlin & Kim. (Bree I think you already did this tag and Kim you only have to do it once but I didn't know who else to tag)

Hopping Good Time!

Bunny Day - The Hunt

The Easter Bunny hid Brock, Mikele & Kassie's baskets in the tub upstairs at Grammy's house. The kids went on a scavenger hunt to find them. Brock and Mikele got those big balls with the handles that you can hop on. Below is a video. Before we get to that the kids had some eggs to find.

Kassie did really good. She would get so excited when she found an egg. It was really fun.

Brock was really good at searching for the eggs. Mikele needed a little more encouragement but eventually we found all of the eggs.

Then it was time for breakfast. We went the healthy route, chocolate peanut butter filled egg for Kassie.

And more chocolate for Brock and Mikele. (Chocolate has dairy in it right)

Bunny Day - Decorating Easter Eggs

This year for Easter we went to Grammy Norris's house. In our family we celebrate Bunny Day on Saturday so Friday night we decorated eggs in anticipation of the Easter Bunny. Everyone got into the action. Kassie even thought it was pretty fun to see the eggs change colors. She really liked putting the stickers on the eggs and then taking them off. Here are a few pictures:
