Happy Thanksgiving! This year we had a fabulous time. We hosted the Norris family at our house. Everything went great but the only thing that would have made it better was if more of the Norris's could have come. Next time ;) Dee flew in on Monday and Kassie, Allie and I picked her up from the airport. We kept her busy cleaning, cooking and building a play doe panorama.
Bree, James and their girls arrived late Wednesday night. On Thursday morning we had a surprise visitor at our door. Thanks Grant and Carson! You two are TROUBLE! Lucky for us, the turkey we would be eating was chilling in the fridge.
We wanted to make sure we would all be really hungry so we spent the morning participating in the first annual Turkey trot. James and I ran the 5k. James did amazingly well especially considering he didn't train at all. He finished in just over 26 minutes and was in the top 30. He might have paid for it latter by being a tad sore.
I finished in just over 29 minutes. My goal was to run the whole thing and be under 30 minutes. I was happy with my results.
Brock, Mikele, Jason, Bree, Avri, Kassie and Dee ran/walked the mile. I was waiting at the finish line with Allie. The first two kids, brothers, came running across the finish line. I looked down the street and saw the next person coming with these bright orange shoe laces. To my surprise it was BROCK! He finished 3rd with a time of 7:50.
Then just behind Brock in 5th place and the 1st girl was Mikele! She finished with a time of 8:48. (Mikele was feeling the same kind of pain as James) ;)
In fabulous form Jason was not far behind the kids in 9th place.
Doesn't Avri look like a mile was a breeze? Well that might be because for part of the fun run she rode on Bree's shoulders. Either way Avri finished strong!
Bree on the other hand may have had a rougher time. ;) Love the facial expressions Bree!
It was worth finishing because Bree and I were able to get our picture taken with a the somewhat famous, season 11 biggest looser contestant, Justin.
The most entertained walker was Dee. Kassie kept her company and walked the whole mile with her. They had some fascinating conversations and stayed very safe by stopping and checking for traffic at every intersection. Allie walked the last 10 yards with Grammy and Kassie.
I am proud with how well everyone did and that my family wants to stay healthy and active.
When we got home and after the group picture we got started on dinner. The turkey was roasting, the table was set,
and the water was pretty.
Bree made these cute turkey place holders.
There is our feast. We had corn, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, turkey, candied walnut salad, pistachio salad, rolls, cranberry and zucchini bread . Yum I am hungry again.
Latter once we had a little room to eat again we enjoyed some fabulous pie. Dee made the ritz cracker, my Mom mad the pecan and James made the apple.
Thursday night Bree, Jason and I headed out around 9:30 for Walmart. It opened at 10:00. We were able to get our list and was out of there by 10:06. From there we headed over to Shopko. We stood in line for just over an hour and a half. The crowd got pretty heated right before it opened and once we got in it was a mad house! We were successful and got what we came for. From there it went down hill. We stood in the check out line for over an hour and a half. Well the night was still young (2:30 am) so we stopped by Old Navy that also opened at midnight. By this point we had had enough and decided to head home. We all got some sleep and then we headed out for more shopping. On a positive note I am almost done with all my shopping! That evening we enjoyed movie night. We watched cars 2 while munching on popcorn and treats.
The highlight of the weekend was that the girls were able to go to the Nutcracker. We attended the tea party first. We some of the ballerinas and enjoyed cute cake, punch, and a cute mint.
| Quincy is the cute clown. She is from our ward. |

After the tea party we went and grabbed lunch from Great Harvest. Father Christmas made a surprise visit. He was handing out 50 cent coupons to the local candy shop. We stopped there to get a quick treat before heading over to the ballet. We were so excited! The ballet was fabulous! What a perfectly wonderful afternoon. I am so grateful to spend this time with my girls.

UMMMM....I just might have to kill you for posting those HORRIBLE pictures of me!!! But I guess it's my fault for acting like that with a camera around!!! hahaha!! Good times though, thanks for hosting a fun weekend!!!
and p.s. I am stealing some of these pictures. :)
How fun, too bad we missed it. Why didn't we do stuff like that when we lived closer?? I guess we are the boring part of the family.
What a fun filled week. Thanks to all for such great memories to look back on--even the cleaning teams! Love these pics of all the action.
