10 on 10 Photo Project - May

May is such a busy month with all end of year activities! Saturday May 10th was no exception. We had Brock's guitar recital in the morning in Brigham City.  Brock did fabulous. He played a duet with his teacher Austin and then played a second piece with his group. He is sure getting good at the guitar.

We got home from the guitar recital and had a little time before our second recital - Kassie's ballet recital. The girls played a game of life while the boys put together my mother's day gift.

Kassie had her rehearsal and end of year ballet performance. She sure loves to perform!

The boys finished putting together my Mother's day gift.

Then it was off to the ballet. Kassie did a fabulous job and is so excited to be advancing on to level 5 this summer.

After dinner Kassie, Mikele and I went to the Cache Valley Civic Ballet's Choreographers Showcase. It is probably my favorite show of the season. The company performs a number of pieces that are anything but traditional!  We had minions, farm animals and more. The company is so amazingly talented!!

After the show the girls and I went for some fried ice cream. It happened to be the senior ball and we ran into a few princesses who took a minute to pose for a picture with my girls.

When the waitress brought out our fried ice cream she brought out a serving spoon instead of a regular spoon. Apparently the washer boy was a little behind and they were short on silverware. Just to give you an idea how big the spoon was - the spoon on the left is a normal size spoon. the spoon on the right is the one they brought me. Yeah I requested a different spoon. We had a little fun with the giant spoon anyways.

When I got home it was time for a little cuddle time with Allie. She will always be my baby.

10 on 10 Photo Project - April

For the record I took these pictures on the 10th it just took me a few days to get them posted. ;) So lets get started with 10 on Thursday, April 10th. This first photo is of Allie wearing my fuzzy socks. Allie LOVES to wear my fuzzy socks especially if her feet are cold.

Thursday is laundry day. I only do laundry one day of the week and that means mountains of laundry on Thursday. Jason keeps it going while I am running kids to and from activities.

Mikele is really busy on Thursday. After school she heads to activity days. She has an amazing leader who always plans fun activities and is a great influence in her life.

We have to pick Mikele up a little early from activity days and take her and Elise to dance class.

When we got home from dance class we found Brock, Allie and Kassie playing games. Brock is currently without electronic devices and so he finds himself with extra time on his hands. I was happy to see him spending time with his sisters and playing games.

Kassie was suppose to be doing her homework. Thursday is always a big homework night because of tests on Friday. Overall homework isn't very bad but everyone will be excited for Summer.

So I was just relaxing minding my own business. . .

 . . . when I was ATTACKED!

The last set of photos is each of the kids in their beds.
Allie with her 12 foot caterpillar wrapped around her.

Kassie snuggled under lots of blankets.

 Brock reading, a nightly occurrence.

And Mikele reading in such a comfortable position with little to no blankets because she is usually hot.

10 on 10 Photo Project - March

You thought I forgot didn't you? Actually I didn't forget I just haven't had a moment to sit down and post my pictures.  I did take these on the 11th not the 10th because the 10th was a Monday and last month's pictures focused on a Monday so I took these on a Tuesday instead. So with out further adieu here is my 10 on the 11th.

10:20 am
I decided that today was the day to get my taxes done. First I had to get Jason's office mate settled so I could focus. I got her settled watching a show in her favorite spot on the couch - in the corner with all the pillows and a stuffed animal piles on her.

10:22 am
Taxes 2013 are done! This photo was just the beginning of the process. It took me most of the day but I am glad they are DONE!

2:37 pm
Brock realized this morning that his fish had died. So when he got home from school it was a quick flushing ceremony. Farewell King. :(

2:46 pm
Brock has a school guitar recital coming up next week and is playing a solo so he has been practicing extra hard this week. I will post a video after the recital.

4:49 pm
I had two goals for today. Get the taxes done and get Allie registered for Kindergarten. Well I had picked up the kit in advance and thought I had everything filled out and ready for a quick drop off registration process. I was wrong. Apparently the immunization paperwork had to be in a different format which required me to recall the pediatrician's office, drive back out to get the new form and drive back to the school.

4:40 pm
At least I had good company as I drove all over town.

5:13 pm
YEAH!!! My baby is registered for Kindergarten!!!

5:27 pm
I have no words. Kassie can be kind of scary sometimes. lol

5:31 pm
Mikele had dance class today and was showing off some of her moves and flexibility when you got home.

5:44 pm
Enough goofing off. It was time to get down to work and get homework done.  Last week the kids all got their hair cut. Mikele wanted a style that "would make her look older and freak out her Dad." Those were her words not mine. She does look cute with her new cut!

The night was not over yet but I didn't take any pictures. Brock went swimming with the young men and Jason and I had our Dave Ramsey class tonight. We grabbed a few groceries before heading home and than like most night crashed after another busy fun filled day.

10 on 10 Photo Project - February

It is time again for another installment of 10 on 10 - 10 photos on the 10th of each month. Is everyone that reads my blog and knows me impressed that I am 2 for 2? Ok here it goes - 10 photos taken on Monday the 10th of February.

9:06 AM
Dressed and ready for dance class, Allie is working on her Valentines for preschool. She informed me that her's would be everyone's favorite because they have a sticker on them. Do I tell her that kids really just want the candy?

9:37 AM
I headed to the gym for some exercise therapy - 45 minutes on the treadmill followed by a one hour yoga class.

11:51 AM
Pick Allie up from dance class. She keeps Michele company at The Dance Shop of Logan until I get there. From here I took Allie to preschool, went and cleaned a good friend's house, picked Brock up from school and took him to his guitar lesson.

3:27 PM
Taking Brock to the store to buy his girlfriend a gift. Yes this is a new development. No I did not see that coming. Yes it is kind of cute.

3:38 PM
 Picking Kassie up from school.

4:40 PM
 Piano lessons.

6:21 PM
Kassie reading to Dad. Love homework.

6:22 PM
Dinner - Before you ask for the recipe here is a link to it. Teriyaki Noodle Bowls
After dinner we took Kassie and Mikele to get their Valentines for school and then the whole family went to Twizzleberry for frozen yogurt. We learned some valuable lessons. Skittles get REALLY hard in frozen yogurt. Cookie dough chunks are really sugary. Those little round balls are really juicy. Allie likes sour gummy worms and Mom will never skimp on adding them to her cup again!

8:51 PM
I am obsessed with watching the Olympics. Loving every moment.

8:55 PM
While I was watching the Olympics; someone else was getting their cuddle time. It turned into lets make funny faces for the camera time. Enjoy the two bonus photos below.

Blog Updates Gone Wild

For those who were giving me grief for not updating my blog. I just add 16 new posts and have finished updating the rest of 2013. There are pictures galore and even a few videos. Just scroll down below the 10 on 10 post and everything from there until you reach the 4th of July post are new.

The pictures in this post were taken at the Cache Valley Photographers group I recently joined. One of the coordinators asked if I would bring my kids for models for the meet up. We were playing around/practicing taking pictures in low lights. I was pretty thrilled with these shots.

Enjoy all the blog posts!

10 on 10 Photo Project - January

Last year I did a 52 week photo challenge (theme each week 1 photo a week). It was a great project but sadly I had many weeks of no photos and then a major catch up day. I am happy to say I did finish the project and I don't regret having the photos. This year I decided to try a different project inspired by Sara Arrigoni - a fellow photographer, former classmate and friend. I am doing a 10 on 10 - 10 photos on the 10th of each month.  I am excited about this project for a number of reasons. One, the project is focused on capturing the everyday moment throughout the day. Second, it is only once a month :) I can do this! Ok well I wasn't off to a great start. If it wasn't for Sara's reminder on facebook I would have totally forgotten to take photos on the 10th. I honestly didn't realize it was already the 10th! Fortunetly I checked facebook in the morning and then quickly grabbed my camera to capture a few getting off to school pics.
